The United States appears to have passed its peak of coronavirus hospitalizations, with a phased return to more normalcy that began in May. Key pandemic indicators tracked by City National Rochdale: coronavirus spread and mortality, virus testing, and policy response, all have swung into positive territory for the first time since the outbreak. Several countries have started to reopen their economies, and various U.S. states, including California, Texas and New York, have taken steps to show they’re ready and willing to do the same. But reopening doesn’t automatically mean recovery or normalization.
South Coast will be hosting a market update webinar with our partners at City National Rochdale, Wednesday, June 3rd at 10:00 am via Zoom Online Meetings. Portfolio Manager, Russ Martin, will provide market commentary on what it’s going to take to leave the lockdown and what the path to recovery looks like. The pandemic has taken a staggering toll, with more than half of U.S. small businesses currently closed and more than 30 million Americans out of work. Is the market currently overvalued? Where should portfolios be focused as we chart a new course over the months ahead? Join us as we address these questions and several others.
