Griffin Institutional Access Real Estate Fund (GIREX) offers individual investors access to an actively-managed portfolio of private real estate funds and public real estate securities selected by some of the largest and most respected institutional investment managers. Until now, these private funds have been exclusive to only the largest institutional investors (i.e. large endowments, pension plans, and state retirement funds, etc.).
Since inception in June 2014, GIREX has delivered an annualized return of 8.33% inclusive of a 5.22% dividend while stocks (as represented by the S&P 500) have delivered only 4.99%. Not only did this strategy outperform the general markets, it did so while taking considerably less risk. The strategy continues to pay a strong dividend while delivering stability in a market that does not look to calm down anytime soon.
