Earlier this year in March, South Coast hosted a meeting with Franklin Square to discuss an opportunity in the energy sector through the Franklin Square Energy & Power Fund (FSEP). Since that meeting, FSEP shares have increased in value over 13% as the price of oil has sharply rebounded. We expect the price of oil to continue to rebound over the next 3-5 years creating a significant runway of opportunity for this fund.
Andy Marrone with Franklin Square will be joining us again this month to discuss the opportunities Franklin Square has uncovered in the energy sector as well as others focusing on the debt side of the equation. We will spend some time discussing the FS Energy & Power Fund as well as the FS Global Credit Opportunities Fund; both companies are designed to provide investors a combination of income, growth and diversification by investing primarily in the debt and income-oriented securities of private U.S. companies. FS Energy & Power Fund boasts a current annualized distribution rate of 8.97% with a $7.90 offering price while FS Global Opportunities Fund is paying 8.19% with an offering price of $7.51
